Frequently Asked Questions
You know what they say – a walk a day keeps the vet away! Our Certified Caregivers at Rufus Care Center® can come to your home to take your dog on a walk and ensure they are getting the exercise they need. Just like humans, dogs benefit from walks in many ways. By scheduling us to walk your pup on a regular basis, you can help to prolong their lifespan and help them achieve a higher quality of life. Our team of experts is here to provide compassionate care to your pet during every single visit. So let us introduce you to a few of our fine colleagues:
Our team is happy to walk your dog where you would normally walk them. We can stick to your immediate neighborhood or walk them to a different area, depending on your preference. It’s our goal to keep the walk as close to yours as possible so we are consistent with your dog’s routine. Please note that we are unable to transport your dog.
Our Certified Caregivers at Rufus Care Center undergo rigorous background checks as well as an extensive certification program before being able to care for our clients. We only hire individuals we would trust to care for our own pets, so you can rest assured your furry pals are always in the best hands possible, other than your own.
If your Certified Caregiver is unable to walk your dog, we will be sure to let you know prior to the appointment. When this happens, our team will send another Certified Caregiver out. You can count on us to always ensure your dog is well cared for and that no appointments are missed or canceled on our behalf.
Of course! Our Certified Caregivers are trained to care for pets with special needs as well as elderly pets. During your free initial consultation, we will take the time to understand the extent of your pet’s needs and duplicate the detailed information you provide us with to ensure they receive exactly what they need while you’re away.
Your pet’s immediate needs are our priority. Each of our trusted, loving Caregivers is certified in both pet first aid and CPR, so we can care for your pup if they have a superficial wound. If it’s something more serious, we can take them to your personal vet (or an emergency vet if your vet doesn’t offer after-hours services). If this occurs, we will call the emergency number you provide for us or your closest emergency contact.
Your dog will need to be up-to-date on all of their state-required vaccinations. Our team recommends that all Campers be vaccinated for Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies. Reach out to your local Camp to learn more about vaccination recommendations and requirements for your area.
